Middleton International School Featured in Tabla for Its Reading Culture
Middleton International School is pleased to share that we have been featured in Tabla’s article, “Stop, Drop, and Read: The Importance Of Reading in Children,” published on 21 May 2026.
The article shines a spotlight on Middleton’s reading culture, including our Book Week celebrations and our DEAR initiative, which stands for Drop Everything And Read. As part of this initiative, students pause during the school day to spend dedicated time reading, encouraging them to slow down, focus, and enjoy the experience of being immersed in a book.
The feature also highlights the voices of our students and teachers, who shared how reading supports vocabulary development, creativity, imagination, wellbeing, and lifelong learning. At Middleton, we believe reading is more than an academic skill. It is a habit that helps students explore new ideas, build empathy, and develop confidence as learners.
We are proud to see our school community recognised for nurturing a love of reading and creating meaningful opportunities for students to engage with books in thoughtful and enjoyable ways.
