  1. What is your Middleton school calendar schedule?

Middleton International School follows a January to December schedule.

  1. What levels do you offer at your Upper Bukit Timah branch?

Our Upper Bukit Timah branch offers from Grade 1 to Grade 5. Children graduating from Grade 5 will receive an automatic transfer to our Tampines branch for Grade 6.

  1. What is the age level placement?

  1. What is the class size for each grade level?

Grade 1 to Grade 5: maximum 28 students

  1. How many classes are there for each level?

At our boutique Upper Bukit Timah campus we have 1 class per grade, except for Grade 1, where we have 2 classes.

  1. How many teachers are there in each class? 

1 Homeroom teacher, with specialist teachers for Art, PE and Chinese.

  1. What are the regular school hours?

Our regular school hours are from 8:15am to 3:00pm.

  1. What curricula are you offering at Middleton?

We offer the following curriculums as outlined below:

Primary School Years – Grade 1 to 5

The Middleton Primary Curriculum is academically rigorous and inspired by the high standards of Singapore MOE-inspired Mathematics and Chinese and the Key Stages (UK curriculum) for English. The Programme is delivered in the context of the units of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The IPC is a comprehensive curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject for personal learning and international-mindedness.

Middle School Years – Grade 6 to 10 (at our Tampines branch)

The Middleton School Curriculum for Grades 6 to 8 is specifically designed as a gateway, linking the in-depth knowledge, skills and understanding developed in the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) to those in the intensive IGCSE Programme undertaken in Grades 9 and 10.

High School Years – Grade 11 to 12 (at our Tampines branch)

Middleton International School will offer a rigorous high school curriculum which is the Cambridge International Advanced Level qualifications that prepares learners for university study and is well recognized as a rigorous pathway that prepares students for life in a globalised world.

We are still pending regulatory approval to commence Grade 8 to 12. These classes will commence from 2019 onwards in phases. If you are keen to sign up for (Grade 7 to 12) for your child, you can download the registration form here and send in the completed form to [email protected]

  1. What are the backgrounds of your educators?

We have a good mix of educators from diverse and international backgrounds. They are experienced and professionally qualified educators from Singapore, UK, USA, India, Australia, China etc. Most of our educators have an average of at least 2 to 5 years of teaching experience.

  1. Do you have specialist teachers for some of the lessons?

There are specialist teachers for Physical Education (PE), Chinese and Art lessons.

  1. Does the school offer Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA)?

Middleton offers various interesting and engaging ECA options for our students such as Neuro-ceramics, Cricket, Soccer, Yoga, Lego Robotics, Speech & Drama, and Chess etc.

Every student is entitled to one free teacher-led ECA.

Some ECAs are provided by external vendors, which are optional and payable at an additional cost of $200-500 per term.

  1. My child has no/ minimal English background. Do you provide any support for English Language?

All students will be assessed by their English teacher for their English proficiency level during the first few weeks of school. If your child is identified to require additional support in English, he/she will be required to undertake English Additional Language (EAL) Programme.

The duration that your child is required to undertake EAL Programme will depend on the learning ability/ pace of your child. EAL comes with an additional cost of $321 per term.

  1. Does the school provide school meals?

Middleton offers school meal subscription at an additional cost of $25 per week. School meal subscription is charged on a term-ly basis.

For example, school meal charges will be $250 for a 10-week term.
School meal includes daily morning tea break and lunch prepared by the EtonHouse chefs.

  1. Does the school offer any additional language?

Chinese lessons are included as part of the curriculum.

  1. Is there any entrance assessment?

No entrance assessment is required, unless the school report provided is an insufficient indicator of your child’s performance.

  1. My child is a student pass/ long-term visit pass holder. Does Middleton accept student pass/ long-term visit pass holders?

Middleton is not edutrust-certified; hence we cannot accept student pass and long term visit pass holders at present.

We aim to be edutrust-certified in 2nd quarter of 2019. Please check back with us for edutrust certification in 2019.

  1. What is the registration fee?

Registration fee is a one-time and non-refundable fee of $1,605 (inclusive of GST).

  1. Does the school provide school bus service?

BusTech Pte Ltd is our appointed school bus vendor for Upper Bukit Timah branch. We provide school bus service to designated areas. Kindly contact our bus vendor at [email protected] for school bus enquiries.
