Leo Goh

Economics & Business Studies Teacher

Leo Goh is an experienced Economics and Business Studies educator with teaching experience across New Zealand and Singapore. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Teaching from Auckland University of Technology, a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Auckland.

Prior to joining Middleton International School, Leo taught Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Economics at Furen International School in Singapore, where he worked with diverse international students. He previously served as Head of Economics at Westlake Girls High School and Westlake Boys High School in New Zealand, leading senior Economics curriculum design, scholarship preparation, and the development of students’ analytical and evaluative skills.

Leo’s teaching philosophy centers on inspiring curiosity and critical thinking through real-world applications. He believes Economics is most engaging when students connect theory to current events, business decisions, financial literacy, and global issues.

With experience as a Chief Examiner and examination paper writer at the University of Auckland International College, Leo brings deep insight into assessment standards, academic rigour, and student progression. Before entering education, he held senior corporate human resources leadership roles in Singapore and China, experience that enriches his teaching with authentic business and organisational perspectives.

Leo is passionate about nurturing independent, thoughtful learners who are curious about economies, businesses, and societies. He strives to create a supportive classroom environment where students feel confident to express ideas and achieve their full potential.

When not teaching, Leo enjoys planning his next travel adventure, exploring new cultures, and discovering local cuisine.
